So on saturday I was in high park doing a shoot with a few friends down near the gorgeous cherry blossoms. We ended up by the water and one of the models climbed out onto a tree that had fallen into the lake. She went about 15 feet out and I went out 10 feet onto the tree to get the best vantage point. The entire time I was having flashes on how terrible it would be if I fell into the lake with my dslr. After the shots were taken I began the perilous task of heading back to solid ground. I managed to safely get to the end of the tree and leap onto the shore. No sooner did I land and prepare to shout "SUCCESS" did I slip in the mud and fall on my ass, almost taking out another person in the process. There I laid for close to a minute, holding my dslr far from the muddy ground, laughing my (freshly bruised) ass off.
Lesson to be learned? Don't celebrate being on solid ground until your sure of your footing!
