So on saturday I was in high park doing a shoot with a few friends down near the gorgeous cherry blossoms. We ended up by the water and one of the models climbed out onto a tree that had fallen into the lake. She went about 15 feet out and I went out 10 feet onto the tree to get the best vantage point. The entire time I was having flashes on how terrible it would be if I fell into the lake with my dslr. After the shots were taken I began the perilous task of heading back to solid ground. I managed to safely get to the end of the tree and leap onto the shore. No sooner did I land and prepare to shout "SUCCESS" did I slip in the mud and fall on my ass, almost taking out another person in the process. There I laid for close to a minute, holding my dslr far from the muddy ground, laughing my (freshly bruised) ass off.
Lesson to be learned? Don't celebrate being on solid ground until your sure of your footing!

That's totally something I would do lol. Were you ok? Is your camera ok? :S
Lmao! Way to go Tom! xD It's a good thing your camera is safe! That would've sucked if it got ruined.
... and I wouldn't be surprised if during all that mess the model was climbing the tree forth and back, demonstrating that there are no problems at all
Well, I don't think it was an epic fail. If you lost the dsir, now THAT would have been an epic fail.
It takes skill ok? Geez you should know that!
Dude kinda reminds me of the time I was hanging from the tree as 935
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHA.... Nice job. I think this story might even be better than my boob ripping story! XD
Heh my brother actually learned the same lesson in Scotland. He jumped for the first sign of clear solid ground on a marshy hill and slipped. In result he broke his arm. Good to hear all went well in the end, relatively.
