Controversy

I got a deviant note from a fellow deviant calling me a racist because of my character "Akira Wayne." Akira is the dark skinned gunslinger instructor from my manga Red Leaves.

Apparently, according to this person, since I am indeed white I have no right to portray characters that are not from my own ethnic origin.

So that limits me to Polish, Scottish, Ukranian, First nation, and England...

I asked this induvidual if there where any specific characteristics Akira portrayed that were derogitory. They answered this "He is a black man with a gun...you do the math."

So apparently my mistake was portraying a dark skinned man in a possition of great authority and respect using a gun, which EVERYONE in the gunslinger themed universe carries.

I must be a monster.
